Hop aboard the Nickel Plate Express for a fun-filled Halloween tradition the whole family will love. Trick or Treat on the Rails is a festive 65-minute ride through Northern Hamilton County aboard our historic 1956 train.
During the ride, each child will receive a trick-or-treat bag filled with goodies, and all guests can enjoy fresh apple cider while taking in the beauty of fall along the route. Costumes are encouraged for kids and adults alike, so come dressed for some Halloween fun on the rails.

What does the seating look like?
Diamond Class Seating: Our top of the class seating! Seats in this car are booth style seats. Please note that if you purchase less than 4 seats you will be sat with other passengers.
Platinum Class Seating: Social, 4-top tables with tables and chairs. These are similar to a restaurant style table and chair. Sold by 4-top table only. Please note, no more than 4 people may be sat at the table.
Standard Class Seating: Airline style seating.
Please note that odd number groups will be sat with our passengers.
Are lap children allowed onboard?
Yes, children ages 2 and under are allowed to sit as a free lap child in our standard seating class. If they are in our Diamond or Platinum class they must be a ticketed passenger with a physical seat.
Are there bathrooms on board?
Yes, we have utilitarian bathrooms on the train.
Can I purchase food and beverage onboard?
Yes, limited food and beverage options will be available in our dining car. Please note, we accept credit card only.
Is the car heated and cooled?
Yes, the train is equipped with heat and air conditioning.
Can you run in inclement weather?
Yes, the train runs rain or shine. We also run if it snows. Please plan accordingly.
Where do I park?
Our depot is located inside Forest Park. There is ample free parking around the depot.
Do we get off the train anywhere? What does the route look like?
Passengers will enjoy a 35-minute ride north to Arcadia before the train switches engines and returns to the depot. This is a round-trip experience; passengers remain on board for the duration of the ride. Please note, the train travels back along the same tracks—it does not operate on a continuous loop.
