The Nickel Plate Express leaves right on-time. Check-in is located directly inside Hobbs Station. Boarding typically begins 15-30 minutes prior to departure. For an easy check-in, please make sure you have your ticket QR code pulled up and ready to go! We recommend arriving at least 10-15 minutes prior to departure time.

What does the seating look like?
Diamond Class Seating: Our top of the class seating! Seats in this car are booth style seats. Please note that if you purchase less than 4 seats you will be sat with other passengers. Platinum Class Seating: Social, 4-top tables with tables and chairs. These are similar to a restaurant style table and chair. We recommend this seating for larger or taller passengers. Please note, no more than 4 people may be sat at the table.
What if I have a group of 5 or more people?
For a group of 5 or 6, we recommend booking a 4-top and 2-top in our Diamond Class car. All passengers may select their own seat(s) or table(s) during the booking process. No additional seats may be added to a 4-top table.
Are there bathrooms on board?
Yes, we have utilitarian bathrooms on the train.
Can I purchase food and beverages onboard?
Yes, a limited bar menu will be available for purchase. No additional food will be available. Please note, we accept credit card only.
Is the car heated and cooled?
Yes, the train is equipped with heat and air conditioning.
Can you run in inclement weather?
Yes, the train runs rain or shine. We also run if it snows. Please plan accordingly.
Where do I park?
Our depot is located inside Forest Park. There is ample free parking around the depot.
Do we get off the train anywhere? What does the route look like?
Passengers will remain on the train the entire time during the ride. The route runs from Noblesville north to Arcadia and then returns the same way. We do not make a loop, but this a round trip ride and will return back to Hobbs Station.
Do I tip the service staff?
You are absolutely welcome to tip the service staff! Our staff works diligently to provide a unique experience serving on a moving train. This is never required or expected and always appreciated.
