Climb aboard the Nickel Plate Express for a festive Oktoberfest Dinner on the Rails experience. Guests will enjoy a relaxing train ride through Northern Hamilton County while dining aboard one of our historic railcars.

This special evening features a German-inspired dinner, festive atmosphere, and beautiful countryside views as the train travels along the historic Nickel Plate Road. It’s the perfect outing for friends, couples, or anyone looking to celebrate the flavors and traditions of Oktoberfest.

Seating Options

Diamond Seating (Ages 21+)

Duke Dining Car

Our historic dining car offers social booth seating at 4-top tables. Individual seats are sold, and guests may be seated with other passengers as part of a shared table.

Diamond Class offers a cozy and authentic dining car experience. Because of the booth configuration, this section may feel tighter for taller or larger passengers.

Guests must be 21 years or older to ride in Diamond Class.

Platinum Seating (Family Friendly – Ages 3+)

Reporter Lounge

The Reporter Lounge offers 4-top table and chair seating with more space between seats. Tables are sold by the table only, with up to four passengers per table.

This seating option provides the most room and comfort and is recommended for taller or larger passengers or guests who prefer a private table for their group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are meal substitutions available?

No. Because meals are prepared in advance for service on the train, menu substitutions or modifications are not available for this ride.

Do all guests need a ticket?

Yes. Due to meal service and seating arrangements, all passengers must have their own ticket and seat at the table.

Can children attend?

Children ages 3 and older are welcome in Platinum Class seating. Diamond Class is reserved for guests 21 and older.

Are drinks included with dinner?

No. Beer, wine, and other beverages will be available for purchase onboard.

Can we bring our own food or drinks?

Outside food and beverages are not permitted onboard the train.

Is seating assigned?

Yes. Seating is assigned in advance based on your reservation.

When should we arrive?

Guests should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to allow time for parking, check-in, and boarding.

Boarding begins 15 minutes before departure.

What happens if we miss the train?

The train departs promptly at the scheduled time and cannot wait for late arrivals. Tickets for missed rides are non-refundable and non-transferable.
