We’ve got something exciting pulling into the station — our very first Community Day at Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad! This free, family-friendly event is your chance to explore the railroad, meet local organizations, and enjoy a morning packed with activities, history, and fun.

Operation Lifesaver Safety Program – Learn essential train safety tips through this interactive program.

Vintage Train Tours – Step inside our beautifully restored passenger cars and the historic Nickel Plate One, a Pullman car once owned by the Van Sweringen brothers.

$5 Caboose Rides – Climb aboard our bright red caboose for a short ride you won’t forget.

Touch-a-Truck – See large vehicles and equipment up close.

Paw Patrol Meet & Greet from 11 am – 1 pm – Perfect for the kids (and the young at heart).

Free Popcorn & Soda – A treat while you explore.

Community Partner Booths – Meet local organizations and learn how they make a difference in our community.
Plan Your Visit
Parking will be available near Hobbs Station, and activities will run the full three hours — so come early to make the most of your day. Caboose ride tickets will be available for purchase on-site.
